The Stack: Next.js, Tailwind & Brutalism

Why this portfolio looks the way it does, and the technology powering it.

The Aesthetic: Neo-Brutalism

Medical software is often sterile, corporate, and uninspiring. "Neo-Brutalism" uses high contrast, bold borders, and raw shadows to create an interface that is honest and functional.

It reflects my approach to medicine: nothing hidden, clear boundaries, and a focus on the essential data.

The Engine: Next.js 16 (App Router)

Performance

Static site generation for instant loads. No loading spinners.

Zero Config

Tailwind CSS for rapid styling without leaving the JSX.

Why Build Instead of Use a Template?

As a Clinician Scientist, I believe we need to understand the tools we use. Learning full-stack development allows me to bridge the gap between "clinical need" and "technical implementation."

This site is my playground—a place to test new UI concepts, like the Magnetic Mesh background running behind this text, before deploying them to clinical apps.
